A BROMSGROVE barber who braved the shave for charity has raised more than £1,600, tripling his original target.
David Roberson, who runs Grassroots Men’s Hair on Worcester Road, had his head shaved on July 10 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 31-year-old, who had been growing his hair for two years, smashed his original target of £500 and raised a total of £1,624 through online donations and a change tin whilst he was working.
He said: “I would like to thank everyone who donated and helped me reach this amazing total that is over triple what my original target was.
“Well wishers came into the shop and cheered me on which was nice.
“The bulk of the length was cut off and sent to the Little Princess Trust which turn the hair into a wig for children with hair loss or receiving treatment which causes hair loss.”
David is no longer taking donations in his shop but is still inviting people to visit bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/david-roberson/ to donate further.
