A CEREMONY will be held in Bromsgrove on Monday, June 19, so the district can show its support for the Armed Forces servicemen and women past and present.
The event at the war monument at Crown Close at 10am has been organised by Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Coun Sam Ammar.
She said: “By flying the flag in our community, we are showing our support and gratitude for all of the men and women who are or have been a part of our Armed Forces and offering our thanks for their bravery in the service of the defence of our country, citizens and way of life.”
The flag will be raised by Coun Ammar and representatives from the Royal British Legion and other invited guests and dignitaries will be in attendance.
After the short ceremony, the flag will be flown all week as part of the national campaign to raise awareness of the role of the Armed Forces and to celebrate past, present and future generations of Armed Forces.
