Bromsgrove and Rubery motorists urged to submit dashcam footage of dangerous and illegal driving to police

MOTORISTS across Worcestershire are being urged to report poor and dangerous driving by submitting footage from dashcams or other devices.

An operation has been launched by West Mercia Police where members can send in their videos showing potential traffic offences.

Operation Snap is aimed at targeting those who drive dangerously or carelessly and offences include overtaking on solid white lines, using a mobile phone while driving, ignoring traffic lights or dangerous driving around other road users, such as horse riders and cyclists.

The evidence will be reviewed by road traffic police officers.

Due to what could be a large number of submissions, the police will be unable to update each person who sends in footage and the outcome of their allegation.

But a West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “All submissions are dealt with pro-actively to help reduce risk taking and poor driving on our county’s roads.

“Any footage submitted through the portal can be used by us to help educate other road users and to advise on case results.”
