BROMSGROVE has been named as one of 30 areas shortlisted in the ‘Let’s Celebrate Towns’ showcase.

The scheme is run by Visa alongside the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and looks to celebrate hundreds of towns across the country helping local businesses and communities to thrive.

As part of the application process, towns across the UK have highlighted schemes, including business and council partnerships, to drive investment, and local mentoring to support local businesses.

For the next stage, judges representing business, industry and local town associations, will meet to decide the eight overall winners.

There will be one champion and one rising star crowned in each British nation.

The champion awards will highlight towns that have created a supportive environment that helps businesses and communities to thrive, while the rising stars will be up-and-coming towns on their way to transforming the local economic environment and community.

Winning towns will receive up to £20,000 of direct investment into a local community project and receive a dedicated programme of support for local businesses.
