A WATERING-HOLE in Aston Fields has been crowned winner of Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas’ inaugural pub of the year competition.
After receiving the most votes, Bremi’s in Aston Fields has been crowned Bromsgrove and the Village’s Pub of the Year.
Martyn Rollason and Jason Pirie, co-owners of Bremi’s, said: “This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire team.
“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and are grateful for the support from our wonderful customers.
“Winning this award in our first year of being open is more than we could have imagined possible, and we are committed to maintaining the high standards that earned us this honour.
“We look forward to continuing to serve the local community with the same excellence and enthusiasm that has brought us this far. Cheers.”
18 pubs from across the constituency took part in the competition and almost 1,000 votes were cast by local residents.
Finishing in second place is Social Sticks and Bayleys of Bromsgrove in third.
Mr Thomas said: “Huge congratulations to Bremi’s on being crowned Pub of the Year by the people of Bromsgrove and the Villages.
“Thank you to all the pubs that took part and to everyone who voted and supported their local.
“It’s great to see that the top three are all independent hospitality businesses.
“We must keep continuing to support our pubs and hospitality businesses, particularly at a time when they’re being squeezed by the government’s increase in both National Insurances Contributions and business rates following the October Budget.”
Employers’ National Insurance contributions have risen from 13.8 per cent to 15 per cent.
A reduction in business rates relief for retail, hospitality and leisure venues (from 75 to 40 per cent) was announced, up to a cash cap limit of £110,000 per company. This will be introduced from 2026-27.
