A BRAVE girl from Winterfold School in Chaddesley Corbett has raised £1,100 for The Little Princess Trust after losing her locks.
Lucy Wainwright had 12ins cut from her hair which will now be made into a wig for a child or young person who has lost their hair through treatment for cancer or other conditions.
The year one student thought it would be nice to help someone and with Lucy’s help, the charity was able to make two more wigs for children.
The cash will also further support the development of less aggressive and less toxic cancer treatments.
Four years ago, thanks to the huge efforts of fund-raisers like Lucy, the charity was able to begin funding academics and organisations involved in researching the causes of paediatric cancer.
