Brain injury charity fun day coming up in Cofton

Bromsgrove Editorial 13th Jun, 2024   0

A LOCAL brain injury charity is holding a family fun day in Cofton Park later this month.

Headway is urging people to head down and join in the fun from 12 noon to 4pm on Sunday, June 30.

A summer fayre including a bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, hook-a-duck and name the teddy activities will keep families entertained alongside hand-made craft stalls, dog training displays and various food and refreshment stalls such as a BBQ and Indian street food.

All money raised will go towards Headway’s local services, supporting brain injury survivors and their families.

This includes rehabilitation sessions at the charity’s three centres including Leighton House in Rednal which enable brain injured people to re-learn lost skills and mix socially. The charity also provides one-to-one support at home and in the community alongside family support.

Ajit Matharu, family and carer services manager at Headway Birmingham & Solihull, said: “As in previous years, our Family Fun Day has something to interest all ages and is sure to be an enjoyable day all round.

“Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and some of our regular supporters, we have some fantastic prizes to be won in our raffle and tombola, plus there will be some delicious food available to buy as well.

“While the day is all about raising much-needed funds towards our local brain injury services, we also want to raise greater awareness of brain injury generally and the impact it can have on both the injured person and the wider family.

“We really hope local people will make a note of the date and come along if they can.”

There is plenty of car parking within Cofton Park and along Lowhill Lane, and Longbridge railway station is also within walking distance.

Contact Ajit directly on 0121 457 7541 or at [email protected] for more information. Entry to the fayre is free.
