THE TOWN’S popular Pensioners’ Fair makes a return next month to offer help and support to Bromsgrove’s elderly community.
There will be 40 exhibitors at the fair on Friday, November 15 providing retirees with free information including Right at Home, Age UK, the NHS and more.
And, as the colder months set in, attendees will be able to enjoy free tea and coffee at the Fair’s pop-up cafe. The event is open from 10am to 2pm at Parkside on Market Street.
Bromsgrove’s MP is responsible for helping organise the fair, with Bradley Thomas taking the reigns from Sir Sajid Javid for his inaugural event.
Bradley said: “I’m looking forward to holding my first Pensioners’ Fair to ensure retirees in Bromsgrove can access vital help and support.
“I’m particularly keen to make sure retirees who aren’t claiming Pension Credit, but are entitled to do so, are signed up.
“This is important given they will have lost their Winter Fuel Payments after the Government cruelly axed payments for around 20,000 pensioners in our constituency according to Age UK.
“Please come on down to my first ever Pensioners’ Fair.”
Bradley has recently slammed the Labour government’s winter fuel payment criteria changes and has avidly campaigned to help pensioners in Bromsgrove regain these payments if they are eligible.
Mark Appleton, managing director of Right at Home, said: “Right at Home Bromsgrove are really excited to support the Bromsgrove Pensioners Fair again this year.
“The Pensioners Fair enables older members of the community or their families to find information about a range of services, activities and events available to them.
“However the event is not just about showcasing services and information but is also a social event and provides the opportunity to meet up with friends in the community at the same time.
“We really look forward to seeing you.”
