A BOY has been arrested and a machete was seized in Northfield over the weekend.
On Sunday (May 3), officers from the Guardian Taskforce stopped a boy on Taysfield Road, Northfield, and recovered a machete.
The 13-year-old boy was arrested and has been referred to a YOT (Youth Offending Team), where work will begin with the aim of preventing re-offending.
This was carried out as part of Project Guardian, a specialist taskforce which tackles knife crime and youth violence.
Project Guardian places particular emphasis on reducing knife crime through a range of tactics, including plain-clothed operations, high visibility patrols and positive engagement with young people.
