BUSINESSMAN Ben Truslove will take on today’s London Marathon to raise funds for Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice.
The commercial property expert, who is the joint managing director of John Truslove Ltd, initially set himself a target of £1,500 by now taking part in the Chester Marathon in October 2021 but he reached an impressive £2,100.
He took on the London Marathon last year and has so far raised more than £7,800 in total for the Primrose Hospice.
Ben has set his eye on raising £4,000 as he tackles one of the biggest marathon events in the world again and has now surpassed that.
Ben said: “This is the biggest marathon event on the national stage and the ideal opportunity to fly the flag for the Primrose Hospice.
“It will be both exhausting and exhilarating, but all the effort will be worthwhile because of the generous donations I am receiving.
“I was inspired by the huge support I received when I first took part in the Chester Marathon, and I’ve raised more than I could possibly have imagined when I first set out.
“It all goes to helping the Primrose to provide more crucial care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses and support for their families.”
Abi Coulson, corporate fund-raiser at Primrose Hospice, said the independent charity raised more than £1.75million-a-year from the local community to provide care and help with patients’ home adjustments, physiotherapy, medication reviews or emotional support.
She said: “We’re so pleased that Ben has decided to run the London Marathon again for Primrose and are chuffed to bits that his supporters donated so much for his efforts.”
