THE anti-violence bee flew into Bromsgrove on Tuesday (November 15 and 16) with a very important message about crime.
As part of its whistle-stop tour of the area, the bee arrived outside Ruberys and Bromsgroves police station and outside Birdbox.
The statue is made completely out of guns and knives collected from the streets of Manchester as part of the Greater Manchester Police departments ‘Forever Amnesty’ campaign, where people were encouraged to surrender their dangerous armaments.

The statue was created by the British Ironwork Centre – the same company behind the creation of the Knife Angle.
Supt Edward Hancox, West Mercia Police Crime Prevention Lead, said: “Knife crime has a devastating impact on individuals, families and communities.
“Carrying a knife or other weapon does not keep you safe.

“Instead you are putting yourself in much greater danger, and you’re more likely to become involved in a violent situation and get injured yourself.
“Having the Anti-violence Bee tour our region is a real honour, and its sheer presence will provide the ideal opportunity for us to get this message out into our communities.
“We are working with local councils, charities and schools to engage and educate our young people.”
