BROMSGROVE District Housing Trust (BDHT) is offering people £1,000 cashback for first time buyers to help them get on the housing ladder.

The trust will give the cash to anyone who reserves one of its shared-ownership properties before the end of March.

BDHT currently has a selection of shared-ownership properties available across the district, including at Norton Farm, on the Birmingham Road and Cofton Hackett.

The Government-sponsored scheme is designed to help younger people and families get their foot on the property ladder by being able to buy a 50 per cent share and paying subsidised rent on the remaining share.

Buyers then have the option to buy more shares in the future as personal circumstances change.

To be eligible, people need to have a household income of less than £80,000 per year, be 18 or over and have a deposit ready.
