THE BASEMENT Project has received a £300 pre-Christmas boost from Bromsgrove Belles WI.

The group handed over the funds to the charity at its Christmas Party last night.

The Basement Project supports young people aged between 18 to 25 in Bromsgrove who are homeless or facing homelessness.

Katie Howse from the WI group said: “It is such a great charity – we donate items each week to the Basement, depending on what they need at the time.

“The £300 came from our unused funds at the end of the year.”

Jackie Hooper from the Basement Project said: “They have been supporting us for a number of years every single month and it was so lovely to receive a cheque at their AGM and now this £300.

“It will help with the clients’ fund and any extra they need for heating bills, travel costs or other expenses.”

Bromsgrove Belles meets on the second Monday of every month at St Godwalds Church and supports the Basement Project all year round.
