A BROMSGROVE man has been bestowed the prestigious Meritous Service Medal following His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours.

Warrant Officer Class One Danny Bromage of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers received the honour for outstanding military service and tireless contributions to the community.

The medal is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary commitment and sacrifice, not only in combat or operational roles but also in their unwavering support for their comrades and the broader community.

WO1 Bromage’s career, spans an impressive 25 years and is marked by numerous achievements and a steadfast dedication to duty globally.

He said: “I was shocked to receive the call. I never imagined receiving such an honour. My call to serve my country and community is deep-rooted within me.

“However, my efforts would be impossible without the support of my wife Vicky, my son Tyler, and fantastic friends and family who have supported me to serve and support others.”

His work extends beyond the military, as he has been actively involved in community service programs.

These include raising funds for the RBL, supporting underprivileged children & families, raising awareness around mental health, growing community cohesion by driving local events, raising awareness round the plight of fostering need, and actively supporting local businesses as a high street champion.

“Although I personally receive the award, this award is a testament to the men and women who serve in the British Army and its successes, both foreign and domestic.”

“As I reach 25 years of service and look to my career coming to a close, I realise that my career achievements have only been accomplished by being surrounded and supported by greatness.”

“Success breeds success and positivity grows positivity,” he said, “these environments encourage people to work harder and try and achieve beyond expectation,” he added.
