BIG-HEARTED residents and staff at a Bromsgrove care home said ‘yes to yellow’ when they baked ‘delicious’ cupcakes to raise cash for charity.

The team at Cofton Park Manor, Lickey Road, impressed guests when they presented the beautiful cakes in aid of Marie Curie’s Go Yellow Appeal and ended up raising £76.33 for the charity.

Resident Sheila Phillips, aged 82, said: “Marie Curie is an amazing charity and supports so many people when they need it most.

“I am delighted that Cofton Park Manor decided to get behind the appeal.”

Marie Curie provides hospice care as well as being a campaigning organisation for better end of life care. The Go Yellow appeal invites people to fundraise using yellow as a theme colour.

Wendy Sibley, the regional community relations lead at Cofton Park Manor, said: “Everyone enjoyed the bake sale, and it didn’t take long before the cupcakes disappeared.

“The cakes were incredible, they looked good but tasted even better, and everyone especially loved the yellow icing.”

Emma Searles, a Homemaker at Cofton Park Manor said:

“We are delighted we were able to raise the money through something as simple as baking.”
