B31 VOICES have teamed up with Morrisons in Rubery to launch their Christmas Toy Appeal for local domestic abuse charities to give vulnerable children a festive season to remember.
Toy and gift donations will be handed out to youngsters in South West Birmingham through two charities supporting children and their families.
Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid (BSWA) supports women and children through and after domestic violence while the Northfield Forward Steps is run by Barnardos and supports families with young children.
Morrisons Community Champion, Jane Williams said: “Once again we have chosen to support Northfield Forward Steps at Frankley Children’s Centre alongside Women’s Aid this year.
“With the cost of living crisis adding to the challenges faced by the most vulnerable in our communities, it’s important to support children suffering from the effects of poverty and domestic violence.”
Sas Taylor of B31 Voices added: “This year all families are facing extra pressure with the lingering effects of COVID and the cost of living crisis.
“The most vulnerable are really struggling to make ends meet and Christmas will be a challenge for many.
“Forward Steps and Women’s Aid support children across southwest Birmingham and we know your generous donations will bring smiles to the faces of many children and their families.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Rubery Morrisons checkouts, with any gifts or toys donated needing to be suitable for those up to 18 years old and must be new, packaged and unwrapped.
