AN AWARENESS event aimed at highlighting Bromsgrove’s Amphlett Hall as a more integrated information and activity hub for the community will take place between 10am and 1pm on December 12, writes Lewis Glennon.

Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch, and Wyre Forest is holding the open day to let residents know about the services on offer there.

Visitors will get the chance to meet members from the charity’s Information and Advice team which is in the process of moving to the site.

There will also be free electric blanket testing to ensure the items will safely keep older people warm this winter. Appointments for blanket testing need to be booked in advance.

Residents can also find out about free Home Energy checks which sees one of the charity’s handypeople assess homes to ensure they are as energy efficient as possible.

If not, appropriate energy-saving equipment can be installed free of charge to help people stay warm.

To book a free electric blanket test or to find out more about Age UK and the open day call 01527 570490.
