AUTHOR Joanna Toye will be the guest speaker at Avoncroft Museum’s New Gueston Hall at 12pm on Wednesday, October 6.
This is the first event organised by WORDS since the start of the pandemic.
Joanna, a keen WORDS supporter, started as a PA at BBC Birmingham and has since spent 30 years researching, scriptwriting and producing several hit shows, including The Archers, Crossroads, Eastenders and others.
She has also written 11 spin-off books, including six novelisations, about various BBC and ITV series.
She left to create her own fictional world – the life and loves of the Shop Girls in her fictional department store ‘Marlows’, inspired by a visit to an exhibition about much-missed Midlands ‘Beatties’ departmen – The Victory Girls – was published in July.
Tickets for the event – limited to 55 – are available at ticketsource.co.uk
