Attempted robbery at Rubery cashpoint as woman tries to wrestle money off elderly man

AN ELDERLY man was attacked at a cash machine outside Lloyds bank in Rubery by a woman who tried to wrestle from him the money he had just withdrawn.

It happened between 11.05am and 11.10am today (Saturday) at the junction of New Road and St Chad’s Road.

A member of the public went to the man’s aid and the woman fled empty-handed.

The woman was white, had a European accent, dark hair and was approximately 5ft 6ins tall. She was wearing a knee-length blue puffa jacket.




Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
