AROUND 100 people packed into St Chad’s Church this evening for The Rubery Singers’ Christmas Concert to raise funds for Tracey’s Dream.

The group’s set included Coldplay’s Fix You, Somewhere Only We Know, festive classics, such as Have Yourself a Merry Christmas and the carol Once in Royal David’s City which the audience joined in with for a mass singalong.

Tracey’s Dream was set up by Stephen Pugh in memory of his wife Tracey who lost her battle with cancer.

The organisation has bought a caravan in Evesham which will be used to give cancer patients and their families the chance to go on free short breaks together.

Stephen spoke before the concert about why he started the charity, explaining to offer a caravan for cancer patients was ‘Tracey’s Dream’.

There was also a raffle to boost the coffers further.

The Rubery Singers, which has recently celebrated its first anniversary, meet every Tuesday at 7.30pm at St Chad’s Church and always welcome anyone to join with no audition required.
