A MAN has been attempting to scam elderly people in Barnt Green by knocking on doors and pretending to need money to visit a family member in hospital.
Police have issued a warning about the man who is white, 50-years-old, tall, medium build, not clean shaven and was seen wearing light-ish clothing.
Authorities have urged people not to open their door before they are sure they know who it is. They have also urged people not to allow strangers into their home or give them money.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Residents are asked to call the police if they are afraid or threatened and are urged to always ring 999 in an emergency.
