DRIVERS were left bemused by a new sign at one of Bromsgrove’s busiest junctions directing motorists to ‘Brimingham’.
The error on the sign at one of the town’s busiest junctions appears where the Stourbridge Road meets Birmingham Road (or should that be Brimingham Road).
The error was highlighted on Facebook yesterday by Traffic Bromsgrove which said: ‘once you see this, you can’t unsee it’.
The post led to hundreds of reactions and more than 150 comments, with people pointing out other sign errors, such as one which read ‘Oakhalls’ rather than ‘Oakalls’.
Another said it was closer to ‘Brummagem’, the affectionate term sometimes used by Brummies to describe their home city and one poster suggested the sign-writers’ department needed to be ‘brimming with spellcheckers’.
And others, not seeing the funny side, labelled it ‘pathetic’, criticising the incompetence of those responsible.
The sign was installed as part of works to upgrade the crossroads and traffic signals between The Strand, Market Street, Birmingham Road (main A38) and Stourbridge Road.
