Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway surprise for Libby Mae's Little Angels founders

THE FOUNDERS of Bromsgrove’s Libby Mae’s Little Angels were given a special surprise at the weekend when they were in the studio audience of ITV’s hit show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Charlotte and Richard Sharratt along with their nine-year-old son Riley went along to the Television Centre in London on Saturday to see the show live.

The family fun TV show is renowned for the ‘their place on the plane’ feature and takeaway getaway prizes, often given to selected worthy winners both at home via video or to selected people in the audience during the ‘Happiest Minute of the Week’ section of the show.

But last week, in the first episode of what will be the final series, the Geordie duo announced all 411 people in the audience had been hand-picked and every single one of the audience had won a Takeaway Getaway prize sponsored by TUI.

Saturday Night Takeaway described it as ‘the ultimate surprise’ and the Sharratts have been gifted a seven-night. all inclusive holiday for up to four people with an ‘experience’ thrown in too.

The worthy winners will be able to choose from over 100 hotels in more than 40 destinations and there are 27 cruise liners.

Charlotte said it was a total surprise to be invited on to the show and has since learned they had been nominated by her sister Sarah who thought that they deserved recognition for all of the hard work that they put in to Libby Mae’s Little Angels.

Riley added: “It was the best night of my life – it still doesn’t feel real.”

Charlotte and Richard formed the charity following the devastating loss of their two-week old daughter Libby Mae in 2013 and have since raised over £650,000.00 to support the Neonatal Units throughout The Midlands.

The charity supplies what the units need. They have bought comfortable chairs for parents, supplied memory boxes for bereaved families, renovated parent rooms, sponsored staff training, supplied medical and life-saving equipment and much more.
