ALVECHURCH railway station has been the highest performing in Worcestershire over the past six months, new figures have revealed.
Since August, Alvechurch has performed the 754th best out of the nation’s 2,643 stations, the highest ranking out of any in the county.
The data has been collected by the On Time Trains website.
Of the trains that have been scheduled to stop at Alvechurch over the past six months, 65 per cent have been on time, while 86 per cent have been less than five minutes late.
In addition, just 2 per cent of trains have been 10 minutes late or more and 5 per cent have been cancelled.
Alvechuch is the 1,509th busiest station in the country.
In 2025, an average of 448 passengers either arrived or departed Alvechurch station every day.
The numbers over the past three months have also been encouraging, with Alvechurch being ranked the 575th best station in the country.
This ranking is 401 places higher than in the previous three months.
Kidderminster has been the second highest performing station in Worcestershire over the past six months, with Blakedown, Redditch and Wythall stations making up the rest of the top five.
Alvechurch station is operated by West Midlands Railway.
A spokesperson for the rail firm said: “We run over 1,200 services each day and work closely with industry partners to continuously improve reliability
“The OnTimeTrains website measures the proportion of trains arriving at a particular station early, on time or less than one minute late. For each station, most of the trains recorded as delayed were 1-2 minutes late.
“Delays or cancellations can occur for a wide variety of reasons, including industrial action, cable theft, weather and infrastructure issues.
“Any passenger whose journey is delayed by 15 minutes or more for any reason can claim compensation via the Delay Repay scheme.”
