THE HEADTEACHER of South Bromsgrove High School praised students, parents, carers and his staff after some outstanding achievements in the GCSE results which were released today.
Chris Smith said he was immensely proud of all the work and achievements, especially after a challenging and disrupted year.
“We also recognise the support of parents and carers to students in helping them to achieve their grades. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
Kiko Wadhams was awarded grade 9 in each of the nine subjects that she took, while Owen Dyson, Bella Hill, An Lam and Ioan Roberts each achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8.
Mr Smith added he was delighted almost 200 students have chosen to continue their educational journey with South Bromsgrove by staying on at the school’s highly successful sixth form.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.
The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
