SCHOOLS, nurseries and other organisations across Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Rubery and South Birmingham are being urged to take part in this year’s World Book Day.

People are encouraged to dress up as the character from their favourite book or be part of a special reading activity.

World Book Day is on March 1 and UK organisations are also asked to help Book Aid International which sends 1million books-a-year to thousands of libraries and schools around the World so they can be read by children less fortunate.

A Book Aid spokesperson said: “It costs just £2 to send a book, so every penny you raise will make a difference.”
