A MAN has been charged after a firearm was uncovered and seized in Northfield.
The incident happened when a vehicle was stopped in Mill Lane just before midnight on Christmas Eve.
Three people made off from police and two were apprehended after West Midlands Police officers chased them down. A search of the vehicle revealed the weapon.
Jermaine Vassel, aged 19, was charged on Christmas Day with possession of a firearm and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (Boxing Day) where he was remanded for a further appearance at Crown Court.
A 20-year-old man was released on police bail with strict conditions.
