PASSENGERS on a Halesowen to Bromsgrove bus route are the latest to benefit from an ultra low emission vehicle.

The Kev’s Coaches’ 147 bus route will feature a new 30-seater low emission Mercedes from next week.

The new route, which launched in July, takes passengers between Fairfield, Halesowen town centre, Bromsgrove town centre and Bromsgrove railway station.

It runs every two hours between 9am and 5pm.

Des Rogers, bus services manager, told the Standard: “This ultra low emission vehicle brings with it another step towards clean air in the Worcestershire area.”

This addition will help Worcestershire County Council in their successful efforts to reduce emissions in the county.

It has now achieved a 45 per cent reduction in net emissions and reduced 91 per cent of emissions from its buildings, fleet vehicles and street lighting.

The local authority has also been shortlisted for an EDIE Net Zero Award for its transition towards a net zero carbon economy.
