Bunny trio keeping their ears up for chance of a new home

THREE rabbits who have grown up in the care of an RSPCA branch are now looking for their furever homes.

Limpet, Cowrie and Periwinkle have been in the care of the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch for 150 days since they were tiny seven-week-old kits.

They came into the care of the branch as their unneutered mum had an unexpected litter with the owners unable to care for them.

They are now neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to find a loving owner of their own.

Claire Wood, from the RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch, said: ““They have now transformed into young rabbits who are full of character and are now in need of the company of their own Miss Right.

“All three rabbits would make a lovely addition to the family and we can’t wait to see them each go off to their forever homes.

“They would also each benefit from the company of a neutered female rabbit.”

She urged anyone interested in housing one of the rabbits to visit rspca-worcester.org/animals-for-adoption/rabbits or call 01905 821272 for more information.

Rabbits are often perceived as ideal ‘starter pets’ for young children but ctually have very complex needs which has led to them becoming one of the most neglected pets in Britain.

It means sadly the RSPCA deals with many calls about bunnies where they have been neglected or abandoned.

Dr Jane Tyson, RSPCA rabbit welfare expert, said owners may not realise how complex their needs were or the commitment needed to care for them.

“For anyone who has done their research and is certain they can provide the time, space, money and care it takes to look after a pair of rabbits then please consider adopting rescue rabbits instead.”
