AN URGENT appeal has been launched for people in Bromsgrove, Rubery, south Birmingham, Droitwich or Redditch to host French visitors arriving between March 21 to 24.
We reported earlier this year about the scheme for French students, teachers and a driver restarting for the first time in three years. It had to be put on hold during the Covid pandemic.
Lisa Mistry, who runs the project, had a great response following the appeal for host families for March, April, May and June.
But there are some gaps during the week of March 21 to 24 that urgently need filling.
Lisa said: “Due to their enjoyment of our varied local attractions over the previous six years, the students will be back to indulge in chocolate at Cadbury World, eat local Fish and Chips, visit Shakespeare’s home in Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Black Country Museum.”
She added host families were needed from all local areas, within commutable driving distance, of the Bromsgrove and Longbridge daily meeting points.
Hosts will need to give these students a comfortable bed and hot meal when they return from their daily excursions and will have their expenses reimbursed.
Lisa added: “This is a great way to exchange language, food and culture, although you do not need to speak French.
“Your hospitality will be financially rewarded.”
