FOOTBALL - Early goals help Sporting past Needham

BROMSGROVE Sporting scored two early goals to beat relegation-threatened Needham Market 2-0 and end a run of three straight defeats.

Conor Tee opened the scoring inside the first minute before Tom Taylor doubled Sporting’s lead soon after as the Rouslers claimed a deserved victory at the Victoria Ground.

And the result means Bromsgrove sit 12th in the Southern League Premier Central table, nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Mike McGrath’s side made the perfect start when Tee scored his second goal in as many games with a superb curling effort from the edge of the penalty area that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

And Sporting doubled their lead on 11 minutes when Taylor rose highest to head home Brandon Smalley’s cross from eight-yards out.

The home side almost added a third goal when Tee’s header from Jack Tolley’s cross was saved by Needham goalkeeper Marcus Garnham.

Needham’s Seth Chambers was sent off late on for a dangerous tackle
