YOUNGSTERS from Lickey End First School added a spot of colour to their clothing last Thursday to raise cash for those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The children raised £500 by paying to come into school wearing colours relating to world flags.
The clothing choices gave youngsters the chance to show their support for crises across the world.
Cash raised will be going towards food, shelter and medication in the affected countries.
Teaching Assistant Fiona Moseley said: “After watching the horrific scenes unfolding in Turkey and Syria after the earthquake, it was clear that children would want to help.
“The most harrowing photo for me was of a father, holding the hand of his deceased daughter, who was buried under rubble. I will never forget this image.
“They all understood why they were raising money and they and their families were more than eager to help.
“The amount raised was such an amazing achievement and we are all very proud of our children and their families.”
