Bromsgrove Sporting launch women and girls academy

Bromsgrove Editorial 18th Nov, 2022   0

BROMSGROVE Sporting have launched a women and girls academy with Alan Williams appointed as the club’s new Head of Women’s and Girls Football.

Williams will be assisted by Terry Laing with a remit to establish Bromsgrove Sporting Ladies first team as the flagship venue for elite players and to play at the highest level possible.

They have also been tasked with building a true community club, catering for girls of all ages and abilities by offering both facilities and coaching that is conducive to their development.

And the club hope to create a pathway through the club into the first team and beyond.

Bromsgrove Sporting Ladies currently play in Division One of the Midwest Counties Female Football League with Alan Horton to continue as first team manager.

Williams and Laing hope to take the team up the league pyramid by recruiting and developing homegrown talent.

Sporting hope to establish under-16 and under-18 age group teams from next season (2023/24) as well as an open age development team.

The club’s Sporting Girls Academy will allow girls from the age of five and above to come along to sessions led by FA qualified coaches.

However, the club would need to recruit additional coaches to facilitate younger age group teams.
