A MAN who failed to turn up to court and was handed a prison sentence in his absence has been tracked down and arrested by Northfield Police.

The driver was due to be jailed on September 27 after being found guilty on three counts of driving while disqualified, two counts of driving with no insurance and two driving licence offences.

He was also convicted of criminal damage.

Police located where he was and the man tried to hide under a bed but failed to notice officers watching him through the window.

Police posted on Twitter a Santa emoji and stated he would ‘now be spending Christmas behind bars’.
