Finstall First School raised money and donated food to local charities

KIND-HEARTED children from Finstall First School used their harvest festival to contribute food items to four good causes and raised just over £480 in donations for charity.

The cash was sent to Macmillan Cancer Support and a coffee morning was also held.

The school’s headteacher Mr Evans said: “For many years, we have supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the end of September and linked it to our harvest festival.

“Now, more than ever, we felt it was so important that our children understand the need to share our ‘harvest’ with people who are less fortunate.”

The food will be sent to The Basement Project, NewStarts, Catshill Foodbank and St Basils.

Mr Evans added: “The children enjoyed the morning and feel proud to have helped such worthy causes.”
