DAN Sweeney’s hat-trick inspired Bromsgrove Sporting to an emphatic 5-2 away win against 10-man Kings Langley who played most of the game without a recognised goalkeeper.

Sweeney levelled the game for Sporting before scoring twice in the second half to complete his treble with Ryan Edmunds and Harvey Gregson also on target at The Orbital Fasteners Stadium.

The result leaves Sporting in seventh place in the Southern League Premier Central table.

Bromsgrove were handed a boost on 22 minutes when home goalkeeper Jonathan MacAulay was sent off after he clattered into Mikey Taylor with the striker through on goal.

Without a reserve goalkeeper, defender Ryan Case was forced to play in goal for the home side who took the lead despite their numerical disadvantage through Udoka Chima.

Sweeney equalised for Sporting shortly before the break as Edmunds completed the turnaround early in the second period.

And Sweeney grabbed his second just past the hour mark before Kings Langley responded through Jordan Parkes’ superb lofted effort from distance.

However, the Rouslers made sure of the points when Sweeney completed his hat-trick before Gregson scored in the final minute.

Sporting are next in action at home to Chasetown on Saturday, October 8 in the FA Trophy with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
