SINGER Rachel Mayfield, once dubbed ‘Goddess of Indie Rock’, will be taking the stage at Fairfield Flicks on Saturday, September 24 at 8pm.

A Birmingham singer, writer and mixed media artist, Rachel formed and fronted Indie Rock band ‘Delicious Monster’ in the 1990s, achieving three top ten singles with the group and gaining critical acclaim.

She has since released solo albums and film and art installations, and in October 2017 she re-released ‘Winter of Desire’ as part of a four-part artwork that includes Music, Film and Poetry.

In 2018 Rachel started ‘Truth to Material’ a monthly radio show for Brum Radio which is a monthly diary of ideas, events, artists, music and conversation.

The Sitting Room will be supporting Rachel, playing a selection of relaxing and reflective songs, while Steve Ison will be giving an energetic performance.

Visit www.fairfieldflicks.org.uk to buy tickets for the show, which will cost £8 each.
