THE CO-OWNER of Butcher’s Block Bromsgrove has made the cut after being shortlisted for ‘Best Independent Retailer’ at this year’s Women In Meat Awards.

Michelle Holsey, also the head butcher, said when wife and business partner Lilith showed her the email confirmation she ‘could not believe it’.

“After over 20 years in the industry, this came as a bit of a surprise and I want to thank everyone who has nominated me,” she said,

Lilith said: “To be in with a chance of her making the final selection, we need the community to vote for Michelle.

“We’ve already had probably 100 votes for her but the more she has, the better chance she has of making it through.”

The national awards voting finishes on August 26.

Lilith added: “If you’ve ever visited us in store and experienced Michelle’s produce, knowledge and

customer service, we would really appreciate a vote.”

Visit womeninmeatawards.com/vote and head to the ‘Independent Retailer’ section to vote for Michelle.

This is the second time Butchers Block has been nominated in recognition of being a great independent business, having just missed out on a regional award a few years ago.
