A QUEEN’S Platinum Jubilee fund-raising street party in Hazel Road, Rubery, saw £285 raised for Pans Pandas UK.

The event – on Saturday – was spearheaded eight-year-old Eva Knowles who has PANDAs after two bouts of cellulitis during the 2020 lockdown.

Eva’s little sister Charlotte, five, also helped raise the cash which will be boosted to £570 after L&G agreed to match-fund the total.

PANS and PANDAS are conditions which cause inflammation in the brain resulting in neuro-psychiatric symptoms such as OCD, tics, eating disorders, anxiety and many more.

The conditions mainly affect children and can be isolating and life changing.

PANS PANDAS UK’s mission is to ensure speedy diagnosis and effective treatment for sufferers by educating the medical community as well as offering support to sufferers and their families.

Eva also completed a sponsored swim in April, raising £884 (again with match-funding from L&G).
