FUNDING totalling £1.2million is available to help decarbonise public sector buildings across Worcestershire.
The capital cash is available to support projects which improve energy efficiency in the buildings and can reduce carbon levels.
Applicants will also be helped to invest in renewable energy technologies, but there is only a week left to apply.
But there are just days left for people to apply to the Public Sector Energy Efficiency (PEEP) grant funding scheme which can help to fund up to 40 per cent of the total NET project costs, awarding up to £200,000. The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday, May 1.
Grants will help pay for renewable energy systems, heat decarbonisation, such as air source heat pumps, smart LED lighting, Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and whole building retrofits.
Larger project proposals will also be considered.
Liz Alston, Worcestershire County Council’s sustainability manager, urged people to get their applications in.
She said: “The programme has been able to help many public sector organisations to successfully reduce their environmental footprint.
“The application process is simple and efficient.
“To date, 100 per cent of eligible applications have successfully secured PEEP funding.”
Visit the Public Sector Energy Efficiency programmes pages on the county council’s website – worcestershire.gov.uk/peep – for a full list of eligible measures.
All projects must be completed by the end of May 2023.
Grant application forms are available on request. For information visit worcestershire.gov.uk/peep or contact PEEP project manager Hannah Phillips at [email protected] or PEEP project support officer Ibby Hussain at [email protected] or by calling 01905 845428.
