A SURVEY conducted by West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion has examined how satisfied victims have been with the service they have received from the force.
It found 76 per cent of victims involved in crashes said they were completely or very satisfied with how their issue had been dealt with, it was 73 per cent for domestic abuse victims, 70 per cent for those who had been burgled and 63 per cent for violent crime.
Improved victim satisfaction, confidence in policing, justice for victims and support for the most vulnerable were other areas discussed as part of the PCC’s latest formal holding to account meeting with the Chief Constable.
Mr Campion said: “Burglary can have a real tangible impact on victims, with them wanting to feel listened to and supported.
“It may be an officer’s third call of the day but someone’s first experience of being a victim of crime.
“My commitment is to put victims first and build communities where people are safe and feel safe.”
He added improvements were still needed in some areas but he was reassured clear action was being taken.
“These continued improvements will help to improve satisfaction and confidence for victims and communities right across West Mercia.”
