RSPCA in Frankley seeking new homes for ferrets 'Spaghetti' and 'Noodles'

A CHEEKY pair of ferretts at the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre in Frankley are hoping to find the fur-ever home.

Up until now ‘Spaghetti’ and ‘Noodles’ have been overlooked by adopters after being found abandoned in August 2021.

They have been hoping to catch the eye of a potential new owner but have not yet found their ‘paw-fect’ match.

Emma Finnimore, cattery manager at the RSPCA rescue centre, said: “These boys were found abandoned with six other ferrets and were rescued by one of our officers.

“We have managed to find homes for four but we are struggling with this pair and we can’t understand why.

“It was clear to us that neither of the boys have had much handling before they arrived into our care because they were quite nippy on arrival but with the work and socialisation that the staff have given them during their stay here, they are now much better at being handled.”

The pair are both very playful and love to get up to mischief – staff say they will give their new owners hours of entertainment with their antics and comical ways.

“Any ferret owner knows and loves the way they natter and frolic around.

“They love to thoroughly investigate anything new that is placed into their accommodation and their favourite thing is playing in the ball pit.

“We feel that Spaghetti and Noodles could live with existing ferrets with the correct bonding. They will suit a home with owners that are used to ferrets and they could live with children of a late primary school age above.”

Ferrets prefer company and live in groups so it’s best to get a pair or a group (called a ‘business’).

They need to be fed a good quality kibble diet to help keep them happy and healthy.

Ferrets can be litter trained as well as harness trained, so they can go out for walks and adventures outside.

Anyone who can give them a home should click here.
