Special service for Ukraine at Bromsgrove's Sanders Park this Saturday

Bromsgrove Editorial 15th Mar, 2022   0

A SERVICE for the people of Ukraine will take place at Sanders Park’s Jubilee Bandstand at 1.30pm on Saturday, March 19.

The primarily spoken service, led by the minister of Bromsgrove Baptist Church Rev Paul Lewis and held in conjunction the district council, will also feature one or two hymns.

During the service everyone will have the chance to tie blue and yellow ribbons to the bandstand or a structure.

At the end of the service there will be time for people to talk to each other, and be prayed with if that is required.

Rev Lewis said: “This will be a great way to be able to support those who are feeling overwhelmed or anxious about everything that’s happening in Ukraine.”

Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Coun Rod Laight said: “It was clear from the outpouring of heartfelt emotion from our residents we needed to come together to show our solidarity and support for the plight of the people of the Ukraine.”

Donations in the meantime can be made to the Disaster Emergency Committee www.dec.org.uk
