THERE were free pancakes aplenty at Bromsgrove’s All Saints Church on Shrove Tuesday afternoon.
Around 25 to 30 were served up on the pavement outside the church, mostly to children and young people who stopped by on their way home from school.
At the same time inside the church hall, pancakes were also being enjoyed by older people.
Team rector Rev David Ford said: “It was quite blustery so tossing the pancakes was tricky at times but the event went really well.
“It’s the first time we had done anything like this and it fulfilled its aim of engaging with the local community.
“We’ll definitely be organising other activities and offering the pancakes again next year.”
