COUNTY education chiefs have lauded the efforts of schools, colleges, nurseries and early years settings as they prepare to break up for Christmas.
The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to present many challenges to the education sector this year and staff, parents and pupils have all once again found themselves with lots of change.
In his letter, Coun Marcus Hart, cabinet member for Education, said he has been encouraged to hear positive feedback from staff and students about their experiences and how they have adapted to the pandemic.
“As the end of term and the year draws near, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to all of the staff working in education and early years settings,” he said.
“The hard work, support and dedication you have provided to the children and young people of Worcestershire throughout the last 12 months is most appreciated.
“The physical and mental wellbeing our children and young people, families and staff remains of upmost importance.
“As we approach 2022, we will continue to work closely together with your school community and our colleagues in education and public health to ensure you remain fully supported to face whatever challenges are presented to us and help you to adapt to overcome them.
“To those leaders or staff leaving schools or settings at the end of this term I would like to say a big thank you and farewell and wish you all the very best for the future.
“And finally, on behalf of everyone at Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Children First I would like to thank you for your continued support this year and wish you all a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and New Year.”
