A SOCIAL running club was on a high after raising £430 for the Midlands Air Ambulance on their annual Avoncroft Aleathon pub crawl on Saturday.

The Avoncroft Hurriers, led by coach Natasha Tandy, started at the Boat and Railway, running around Stoke Prior and Stoke Heath, visiting local hostelries along the way for refreshments.

They visited The Ewe and Lamb, The Queens Head and The Navigation before returning to The Boat and Railway.

There was no entry fee for the run and all the cash was collected through donations – both from runners and regulars at the various venues.

Natasha said: “We would like to thank everyone for their generosity as this amount is enough to fund a mission in one of the Air Ambulances critical care cars.”

The Avoncroft Hurriers meet every Saturday morning at 10am at The Ewe and Lamb car park.

New members are always welcome.

Visit the Avoncroft Hurriers’ Facebook page here or call Natasha on 07828 890774.
