Bromsgrove's fearless Freddie climbs 100 trees over the bank holiday weekend to raise over £500 for Macmillan

FEARLESS Freddie Innes from Bromsgrove has climbed 100 different trees over the May Day bank holiday weekend to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.

The eight-year-old undertook the challenge in memory of his beloved granddad who died of cancer two years ago.

After setting an initial fund-raising target of £100, donations spiralled and the Lickey Hills Primary School pupil now has more than £500 pledged.

The keen scout chose trees all over the Lickey Hills – an idea he came up with after being inspired by the Cptn Sir Tom Moore 100 challenge for the NHS fund-raiser’s birthday.

Freddie asked for the cash to go to Macmillan as it did so much for his grandad at the end of his life.
