Bromsgrove's Joshua carries out local litterpick to raise funds for Downs Syndrome charity

A COMMUNITY-minded four-year-old from Sidemoor has been collecting litter in his local area with his family over the past few weeks to raise funds for tomorrow’s World Down Syndrome Day.

The cash collected by Joshua Horton will help Up and Downs West Midlands – a charity the family is involved with.

His parents said: “Ever since we found out Joshua would be born with Downs Syndrome, the charity has been a solid rock of support for us.

“This fund-raising opportunity has been a privilege to give something back to the organisation which has supported us so much over the years – from fun days out and weekly stay and play groups to speech and language therapy, Up and Downs has just been amazing.”

Joshua’s family are so proud of him and the large amount of litter he has managed to collect.

From family and friends to local residents and everyone at Castle Nursery, all of Joshua’s family want to thank everyone who have donated and supported him.

The family set a fund-raising target of £275 but his page is now up to more than £800 and they want to collect as much as they can for the cause.

Anyone else who wants to support Joshua’s cause can donate to his JustGiving page here.

Visit upanddowns.org.uk for more on the charity.
