LOCAL charity People in Motion has released a short film series called ‘Welcoming Refugees in Rural Communities through the Generations’.

The 12-part series has been funded with a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Pre-pandemic, clothing and goods donated to Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees at The Bridge Church in Headless Cross were taken by People in Motion to refugees in need.

The short films, celebrating the stories and contributions of refugees in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are published on People in Motion’s Facebook page, Youtube channel and website.

The charity’s co-founder Kirsty Fraser said: “The lives of refugees within our communities are often hidden from view.

“We are proud the stories of those who settled here can now be celebrated and treated with the respect they deserve thanks to funding received from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.”

People in Motion is also creating education packs to spread awareness and honour locally settled refugees’ contributions.
