Man who died in M42 crash between Portway and Alvechurch named by police

THE MAN who died in the crash on the M42 on Sunday has been named as 18-year-old Harvey Blount.

The serving RAF staff member, who was from Derby but based at MOD St Athan in Cardiff, died at the scene after a white Audi A3 left the carriageway and went down an embankment.

His family are now being supported by specially trained officers.

The collision happened at 8.15pm between Junction 3 (Portway) and junction 2 (Alvechurch).




West Mercia Police are investigating in a bid to piece together what happened.

PC Rich Allen from the force’s operations patrol unit said “This is a sad incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased man.


He appealed for anyone with dash cam footage of the area around the time of the incident to submit this to us via Operation Snap at westmercia.police.uk and anyone with any information to call him on 01527 583766.
